Because Fitz's world is one of muted loyalty and hidden grief, the music stays close and low — strings that never quite resolve, woodwinds edged with cold sea air. It brightens only when the Wit stirs, then darkens again as the court closes in. The overall texture is that of a fire lit in a stone room: warm at the centre, cold at the edges.
