Why this music
Because the book's devastation is slow, cumulative, and intimate — a child ground into a weapon by history — the music stays low and dust-covered, strings and sparse piano that carry grief without melodrama. It darkens as Sarat's fate closes in, and never fully resolves, because the book doesn't either.
